About the artist

 The Cavan Art Academy
The Cavan Art Academy grew out of Valerie Kent’s desire to offer an art educational experience that is more than its parts:  Not only does it offer classes and workshops, it's a place to celebrate social events and milestones. It's a team building facility at all levels of expertise.  It's where artists  of all ages can build confidence in their creative abilities.

Cavan Art Academy is on 7 acres, along the Cavan Creek, where outdoor classes and indoor studio art classes and programs are held.  Artists of all ages are welcomed, nurtured and encouraged.

Instruction is friendly, courteous, patient  and knowledgeable. Participants benefit from  the holiday art camps, the portfolio preparation group, art birthday parties, Friday Paint Night, at private painting parties and in the professional-level art classes and workshops.  It is a venue where Corporate Team Building is a very important concept and the needs of the Corporation and its staff can be tailored and accommodated  as required.

All of these activities are built around interaction and an exchange of ideas, which rests on a central concept - the creative, artistic spirit in each person.

It is a unique educational art facility delivering professional services.  It has limited class sizes in a rural setting close to the four corners of Cavan, Ontario. It's a little over one-hour east of Toronto, 20 kilometers southwest of Peterborough and close to Highways 401, 115, 7, and 7a.

Cavan Art Academy is a stress-free environment, which encourages a relaxed approach to art education. It's a place where self-expression is important and the needs of the individuals are taken int consideration. The Academy encourages participants to find their “Artistic Voices” and to express their passion for art.
